The Moment Queen Elizabeth Expressed Contempt for Meghan Markle in Her Final Days

The late Queen Elizabeth was known to be a gracious person, but sources say she regarded prince Harry’s wife, Meghan, with contempt after hearing that the duchess had been rude to a palace gardener.

Royal historian Hugo Vickers says “trouble” erupted while Harry, now 40, and Meghan, 43, were living in Frogmore Cottage near Windsor Palace, when she apparently berated one of the groundskeepers.

“The head gardener went to complain to the queen, and she told [Meghan] off because she obviously didn’t like people being rude to staff,” notes Vickers.

The tension between Meghan and the rest of the royal family became so fierce that it sparked the Sussexes’ shocking withdrawal from their royal duties and move to America, and their relentless attacks against their blue-blooded relatives.

Meghan has since developed a reputation for allegedly mistreating underlings. One source claims to have witnessed “people being chewed up in person and over the phone.”

Another recalls Meghan screaming at a florist for half an hour straight during a phone call because the florist had failed to give the temperamental duchess credit in an online post for helping to design a bouquet.

And a recent magazine profile of Meghan presented her as a Jekyll and Hyde character who would initially be nice to employees but could turn “cold and withholding” as soon as something went wrong, and she looked for someone other than her and Harry to blame.

Yet another source who worked for Meghan says that anyone in her orbit could “be thrown to the wolves” by the demanding duchess, who at times acted like a “mean girls teenager.”

Her demeaning ways apparently didn’t escape Queen Elizabeth. Shortly before she died in September 2022 at age 96, the queen shocked guests during a gathering at Balmoral Castle by lashing out at Meghan.

“At drinks before the dinner, a small group was talking to the monarch and she explained that Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe and described her as evil,” recalls a source. “Everybody’s eyebrows hit the ceiling.

“It was a startling sentence to hear from the most forgiving woman on Earth.”
