As KATIE Couric returns to NBC to cover the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics on Feb. 9, allies of ousted Today host Matt Lauer are being driven out of the network, prompting industry insiders to tattle the ambitious ex-anchor is determined to regain her former morning show glory — and kick Hoda Kotb to the curb!
Less than three months after Lauer was fired in November in a sexual misconduct scandal, longtime producer pal Don Nash announced he’s stepping down to spend more time with family.
A media mole refers to Nash as “very much entrenched in Lauer’s legacy,” though Nash denied having knowledge of Matt’s lecherous ways.
