That’s the heartbreaking revelation from close friends of the legendary musician, who was born Prince Rogers Nelson. He began his rule of the pop world in 1984 with his revolutionary album “Purple Rain,” which sold more than 13 million copies.
The 57-year-old icon —with hits like “Little Red Corvette,” “Let’s Go Crazy” and “When Doves Cry” — was found dead at his suburban Minneapolis estate on April 21.
